Where your score puts you

  • Below 1320: lower than three quarters of enrolled students. A retake has the most upside here.
  • 1320 to 1480: in line with the class. The rest of your application decides it.
  • Above 1480: higher than three quarters of enrolled students. Testing is no longer what holds the application back.

Frequently asked questions

Does Florida require the SAT or ACT?

Florida requires SAT or ACT scores for the 2026-27 cycle. SAT, ACT, or CLT scores are required of all first-time first-year applicants for Fall 2027 admission (narrow hardship exceptions), per UF's own Common Data Set 2025-26 (Section C8A). This reinstates a requirement after a prior test-optional period. ACT Science is no longer required/factored per Florida Board of Governors Regulation 6.008.

What SAT score do you need for Florida?

The published range is not a cutoff. Among enrolled first-year students, a quarter scored below 1320, half scored between 1320 and 1480, and a quarter scored above 1480. A score at or above 1480 puts you ahead of most of the class on testing; a score below 1320 works against you.

What ACT score do you need for Florida?

The middle 50% of enrolled students scored 29 to 33 on the ACT. On the official conversion table that is an SAT 1340 to 1460.
