About Dewey Smart

Near-peer guidance with a strategy team behind it.

Dewey Smart was founded to make high-level academic guidance more current, personal, and practical. Families work with mentors who understand today's admissions and academic pressure because they recently lived it.

The mentor relationship is supported by a core team focused on fit, planning, and execution, so the student gets more than encouragement. They get a path.

Focused support

Where we look for fit.

Admissions strategy

Build the student narrative, school list, essay plan, and application timeline around a clear admissions goal.

SAT, ACT, AP, and academics

Identify the score and transcript gaps that matter, then match the student with the right support.

Essay and interview coaching

Turn raw experience into specific, mature writing that sounds like the student and fits the application.

Team and matching

The point is not more options. It is the right match.

We are not trying to put every family into the same package. The call helps us understand the student before recommending a direction, so the next step is specific and earned.

Core strategy team

Oversees fit, roadmap, and quality so accepted families get a coherent plan.

Near-peer mentors

Current students and recent graduates bring fresh insight into selective schools.

The call

How we choose the plan.

1

Review the student profile

We look at goals, timeline, academics, testing, activities, and the kind of support the student will actually use.

2

Decide whether we can help

We separate what matters from noise, then tell you where Dewey Smart can create leverage and where it cannot.

3

Recommend the right match

If there is a fit, we recommend a direction, a mentor profile, and the next step for the family.

Come in with questions. Leave with direction.

The consultation is designed to lower the decision load: one conversation, a direct fit assessment, and one clear recommendation.

FAQ

Common questions.

Is this only for college admissions?

No. Families use the call for admissions counseling, SAT/ACT planning, academic tutoring, AP support, essay help, or to decide which path matters most first.

What happens after the call?

If there is a fit, we recommend the right scope of support and the mentor profile that best matches the student. If there is not a clear fit, we say that directly.

Who should join the call?

A parent or guardian should join. The student is welcome too, especially if essays, testing, or school fit are urgent.
